This winter, I spent too much time at the slopes with the son of my best friend. It was not the first time I had the chance to snowboard but it was the first time since I had his son, who is now 9 months old. I remember the first time I stood on the hill for the first time. I was so impressed by how hard it came down, the way the snow actually felt. The snowboarding was a big deal.
I had such mixed feelings about going. I loved it. It was just so fun. But I was also worried that I would just be so exhausted. If I didn’t get a good long run in, I would be miserable. But I was so impressed with how good it felt. I thought to myself, “Well if I can do that, then I can probably do this.
The thing is, most of us don’t do long runs in the winter. Because we get to do it during the week when the snow is gone. Or we only get to do it on weekends when it’s light. Or we go to our parents’ house and they have a ski.
There are many reasons why we don’t do long runs in the winter. The main one is the fact that in the winter your muscles are a bit dry. The thing is, the muscles in the summer arent as strong. So even if you have a good long run in the winter, they wont be as nice.
While some people say they dont like to run in the winter because they tend to get too hot during the run, I think it is just because we don’t always have the snow. In my hometown we have a ski hill that is open to the public, so its pretty easy to get out and do a nice long run on the weekends. Plus, the trees in my hometown are just as tall as in the winter and they arent as dense.
Like I said, you dont have to do a winter run in the summer just to get the same benefits. But theres just one disadvantage to doing it in the winter: You will start to overheat. I know this because I’ve been out in the sun for ten minutes without even taking off my wet suit and I am already sweating like a pig.
This is one of the reasons I love winter time so much. Its when the sun just isn’t that fierce and I can just float through the trees. To the point where I can fall asleep under my blankets and not get any sunburn.
It might be true that just being in the sun all day is bad for your complexion, but I think you’re underestimating how quickly you will burn. This is especially true if you’re on a long flight. We’ve all seen our friends who are on vacation and can’t get off the plane because they’re too sunburned. I know I’ve been there.
I was a little worried that, as a toddler, I would go a little stir-crazy as I tried to enjoy the sun. But instead, I ended up enjoying it all so much that I couldnt get enough of it. I even got to go snowboarding. As you can see, this is not a new thing for me. I started snowboarding early childhood, but there is something about being in the sun and the snow that just makes it easier for me.
I think it is because there is a kind of intimacy with it that can only be found in the sun, when you are in the warmth of the sun’s rays. When you are in the sun, you realize that you are in the presence of your body. You realize that you are in the presence of the sun, and you have a connection with that. I think it is because there is more to the sun than just a warm temperature.
