snowboarding in virginia
“Snowboarding in Virginia” is my most popular blog post, and I don’t think that is an exaggeration at all. With the recent snowfall and all, the snowboarding season in Virginia is officially in full swing. I’ve been skiing, riding, and snowboarding in Virginia since I was a kid, so it’s no surprise that there are lots of snowboarders and skiers in the area.
The snowboarding season starts just as the snowboarding season ends, but if you want to know what to do if you’ve never been before, check out the Virginia Winter Resort Information page.
It’s a bit longer than usual, but when the snow is just a little deeper, it’s a blast. The Virginia Winter Resort website has a lot of information about the resorts in the state.
In case you didn’t know, I’m a Virginia native and I’ve been a winter-resort skier my whole life. I’m a bit of a snowboarder myself and try to practice on the slopes at my local VOR, but am nowhere near as good as some the guys in the mountains.
As a big snowboarder, I can say that Ive never really had a problem with getting blown off my snowboard in Virginia. Ive probably had a couple of falls that Ive not been able to recover from. What I usually get is a nasty concussion. Ive also been in a few car accidents where Ive had my wheels shot out of a car in the snow.
