predictions for winter 2015 16
Expect snow on your windows and windowsills, then some snow on your windows, then some snow on your screen door.
I’m not kidding.
If you’ve been trying to get a window replaced but it has been raining and snowing outside and you’re stuck with an open window, then you’re in luck. But before you get the idea for a snow day, maybe try this. A few years ago, we did a study where we asked people to think about the next 10 years for them. The results were pretty interesting.
It turns out that people tend to overestimate the amount of snow they think theyve got on their windows. In our study, people who were told that they had a snow day in the next 10 years overestimated the amount of snow they had on their windows by 3% to 5%.
That’s not a bad thing, because it takes us back to the old adage that you can’t always get what you want.
The problem is that this kind of thinking is usually a sign that your subconscious is trying to tell you something. If you always underestimate snow on your windows you are probably not really ready to get a snow day.

Our studies show that people who are given a snow day by our subconscious tend to overestimate their snow days. Why? Because they have a hard time saying “no.” People who think that they are going to be snowed out tend to feel this way. They tend to be more cautious in every aspect of their life. This is because they are so used to being snowed out that they are used to going through the whole process without saying no.
